What's new in Okou — Week of August 31

This edition brings eight recently shipped upgrades that make Okou more personal, connected, and fluid. GPT 6 Astra joins Pro workspaces, every agent gets a brand-new avatar experience, connectors become more flexible, and everyday work now moves more easily between automations, files, chats, and visual details.

GPT 6 Astra

GPT 6 Astra is now in the chat model picker for Pro workspaces. Choose it directly when you want a high-capability OpenAI model for long-context, image-aware work without changing your provider setup.

Astra expands the lineup rather than replacing another model. Free workspaces can see it with a Pro badge, while eligible workspaces can select it alongside Claude Fable 5.1, GPT 5.6 Sol, GPT 5.6 Luna, and DeepSeek V4 Flash.

Meet your brand-new avatar

Your agents now have an entirely new avatar system. Instead of cycling through a small set of presets, you can build a character that feels distinct from the first glance.

Combine six face shapes, 12 hairstyles, 19 expressions, five skin tones, five hair colors, and six sweater colors. Every composed avatar now has a complete neck-and-sweater silhouette and appears consistently across profiles, the sidebar, team pages, workflows, and agent mentions.

Existing custom images and saved legacy avatars stay intact until you choose a new look.

Use multiple accounts for one connector

Connect the same service more than once, give each account a clear name, and choose the default for new runs. That makes it easier to keep client, personal, regional, or environment-specific access separate without creating duplicate connectors.

Open a connector's account manager whenever you need to add another account, switch the default, reconnect one account, or remove it. Existing agent-level access controls still apply.

Connect APIs that need no authentication

Custom connectors can now connect without credentials. Choose No authentication for public APIs or services where access is already enforced outside Okou, and skip the placeholder-token workaround.

Requests remain limited to the HTTPS prefixes you define, and Okou sends no credentials or authentication data. Existing permission and network safeguards remain in place.

Trigger workflows from Notion and Google Forms

Workflows can now start when work changes in Notion or a response arrives in Google Forms. In Notion, choose a new child page, a new database item, or an update to page content. In Google Forms, choose a submitted response.

Add either from a workflow's Automations tab, connect the relevant account, and select the page, database, or form to watch. The workflow then begins from the event instead of waiting for someone to run it manually.

Preview Office documents without leaving chat

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and supported OpenDocument attachments now open inside Okou. Preview a file in a focused dialog or move it into split view while you keep the conversation nearby.

That removes the download-open-switch-back loop when you only need to inspect a deck, document, or spreadsheet. Unsupported formats continue to use the existing generic preview or download path.

Forward selected content to another chat or agent

Highlight the useful part of an assistant reply, choose Forward, and send it directly to another agent or an existing chat. The selected context lands where the next conversation can continue working on it.

It is a cleaner handoff than copying and pasting, especially when one agent finds the signal and another is responsible for the next step.

See colors beside HEX codes

Six-digit HEX values in rendered Markdown now come with a compact color swatch. A palette is readable at a glance, so design discussions no longer require opening another tool just to see what #FF6B6B looks like.

Previews work in ordinary text and for standalone inline HEX code. Links, fenced code blocks, shorthand values, alpha values, and embedded tokens keep their original rendering.

That's the edition. Try the new avatar first, then bring the same sense of control to the models, accounts, automations, and handoffs around it. More soon.
